Rt.Rev.Dr. G.s.Mony Kulamadayil

(Bishop, Chairman, SICC)

We would like to introduce his name is Gnanasikhamony. He belonged to an ancient Christian family. He was born on 30th October 1964 as the 7th son among ten siblings of his parents whose names were called Sathyanesan Vaidyar and Appiyamma at the east end of Vellarada Panchayat area at Kulamadayil at Trivandrum District in Kerala State. His father was a very active member in the Communist (Marxist) party at that time. But his maternal family was a traditional Christian family so that they themeselves dedicated him to be a God's servant. His father was not only an active person in the Communist party but also a well known Vaidyar in those times. There was no hospitals at that time. Many patients used to come and go for taking treatment at that vaidyasala which was situated nearby the house of him. So his house became the part of party meetings itself. Inspite of all those busy tract, there was no interruption in the intercession of prayer under the leadership of his mother. When he was 7 years old, there was a turning point happened in his life. His family church belonged to Manchamcode CSI church where Honourable Rt.Rev.Dr. William Paul Vachalan asked a question before the congregation during the annual worship meeting after the message was over. He asked this, "Do anybody accept Jesus Christ as a personal saviour?" When he heard this, immediately stood up from the seat and told him that he was ready to accept Jesus Christ as a personal saviour. It became a great surprise in the whole congregation and they were laughed him as a food in a critical sense. Rt.Rev.Dr.William Paul Vachalan called him in front of the congregation, prayed and blessed in touch with his hand on his head in the name of Jesus Christ. Since then he was appointed as a Deacon in the church and gave him the keys of the church also. But it was great privilege, a great commission of God. Then he became a part of church ministry without any remuneration. Later he was assigned cleaning church and its surroundings; making arrangements for the need and wants, do service for the church priests and wash their clothes. These were all the responsibilities to be done in his life. He spent much more time in the church itself. He completed his schooling along with

Biblical education under the feet of priests. He used to give much more interest in reading Bible and in Prayer. In this period he was able to meditate the Word of God, to write epistles and to preach in youth camps. It enabled him to come forward in the rank of leadership and to get the biblical knowledge through all these activities in a large extent. At the age of fifteen, He again started schooling besides Gospelisation. He was deeply interested t teach the Sunday School students, prayer fellowship, house visit, distribution of pamphlets and to preach the Gospel in open air meeting. Rev. Dr. Manual Ahimas and Kirathur Rajayya Sanyasi were greatly influenced him to become a Gospel worker such as Gospel activities and Christian ministries and thereby it began his life into the spiritual journey. As part of his biblical education, he took D.Th. (Diploma in Theology). In this gesture, his father understood him of the evangelical approach at the age of eighteen. His father himself constructed a church in his own property, contributed as a gift and named it as " True Jesus Church". Thus he became a full time gospel worker and dedicated for the service of God in Christian field. Since then, he became a Pastor after the service of Deacon. He converted many people in to the path of Christian life. In this situation many non-Christian people disturbed him a lot of trouble in the Gospel work. He was faithfully worked for God's work in a rendering manner with the help of cycling, walking through many miles and facing severe starvation. During this time, he took B.Th. (Bachelor of Theology) and M.Th. (Master of Theology) also. Meanwhile he came to be known as a familiar figure in the gospel convention programmes. With the support and able leadership of Re.Dr. Manuel Ahimas, he constructed and established more than thirty churches both in Kerala and Tamil Nadu states. Then he took an active participation as a General Secretary for long time. In 1997, God raised his as a priest to perform all church activities in a full time ministry. Thus he became Rev.Gnanasikhamony. Meanwhile, with the inspiration from God he had organised SICC movement in 2001 due to the realization of poor, downtrodden and marginalized people despite propagating God's work among the unreached areas. This movement has been firmly activating for the upliftment of poor people socially economically educationally and culturally. His wife Mrs. Kala G.S. Mony, daughters Ms. Blessy G.K. and Steffy G.K. offers great support in his ministries. On looking back in his reminiscences, he happened to be emotional having full of stones and thorns embedded with footsteps in the paths of life. When we see God's protection who held him on the occasion of memorials through his sufferings, he grasped that all these are being goodness and vibrates his heart with gratitude in Christ. Though, he has many decides to do great work in Christ he is not only pacifying his mind to face the storms hitting in life but also anticipating optimistic hope to recollect his memories.
